I love this thing, for everything it stands, or stood for, if not for certain characteristics today.
It's one of a kind in Paris, it's gloriously awful, it's wonderfully redolent.. of times gone by, and I hope and pray it's never taken down.
The red bits are a recent artistic addition, by the way, and not part of the original design. As I'm typing this, I'm wondering what those holes are actually for. Any ideas, anyone? The more I can learn about this, the happier I'll be :-D
